what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

Micah 6:8

Diving heart-first into the mission of nourishing both the bodies and souls of LaPorte County, the Pax Center has been a beacon of hope since its inception. Born from the compassionate community of State Street Church, we've been tirelessly working to alleviate hunger and loneliness in our cherished neighborhood.

The year 2015 marked a monumental shift for us when a benevolent donor transformed a former bar and nightclub into a sanctuary of sustenance. Now, this building is the heartbeat of State Street's food service initiatives.

Imagine walking into a sprawling 2,500 square foot space, renovated and brimming with warmth and care. This is where the Pax Center works its magic, feeding thousands every year through our food pantries and community meals.

But we don't stop at just filling empty stomachs. We also offer a free clothes closet and a resource center, ensuring that our community members are well-dressed and well-informed. Join us in our mission to keep LaPorte County not just well-fed and well-loved, but also well-equipped for the journey of life.
