About Us
State Street Community Church began in 2010 with a vision to create a just and generous expression of the local church. We've grown into a vibrant, intergenerational community of 250 to 350 people gathering each Sunday, both in-person and online, in downtown LaPorte, Indiana. As an ecumenically inclusive, non-denominational church, we trust the Bible as it points us to Jesus and follow the Apostles' Creed as our guiding interpretation.
Our community includes 30-60 children (from 0-11 years old) who need a dedicated leader to nurture their spiritual growth. Beyond Sunday gatherings, we're actively engaged in our community through the Pax Center, Brighton Street Green Space, and Jackson Street Community Garden. We also run the State Street Preschool.
